Well.... it is the day we are about to see what our future holds for us. It is the day Nils and I are going to our bank and finding out how much we qualify for a home loan. Its that time to find out how close (or far away) we are from becoming home owners. And I am scared! I don't really know why, I guess its just because its the most grown-up and responsible purchase I have ever made...and the largest.
So I am afraid they say either ...
1. We qualify for nothing because our credit is lousy and we have barely saved anything for a down-payment so we will either be living with my parents for a couple years (!) so we can save for a hefty down-payment or be forced to rent forever (probably an exaggeration, but anyways...)
2. that if we qualify for a loan, it will be so small that we won't be able to get more than a teeny tiny rundown ex-crack house in a crappy part of town that needs loads of TLC, a new roof, and TONS of Lysol and Raid to de-funk the place.....or .......
3. that we will qualify for a decent loan and then its time to take that next big step which is actually actively looking for a home and eventually making a purchase- the big time scary moment. Gulp.

I am excited and scared all at the same time but definitely looking into FINALLY being a homeowner...in my own home....decorated my own way....and finally feeling like Nils, Shaylee and I are....well, settled. HOME.

I wish you good luck with that appointment and hope it goes well. Also it will give you some direction as to what to do next too. Two interesting memories I have with April 10th. One, when I was 12 our family was in a car accident on our way home from visiting relatives in Kansas. Everyone says it is crazy that I remember the date. And the second one memory? That was the date my last period was before getting pregnant with Nils. Due date was Jan 17th. But he arrived 4 weeks early. So I find it kind of amusing that is the date you are going to the bank. I hope it is a good coincidence for you guys.
I hope it goes well too! I'll definitely be praying for you guys! Yikes! Big steps in life going on out there!
So how did it go? I am waiting to hear with bated breath.
