Shaylee at Gymnastics

Shaylee really loves gymnastics! Today Grandma Nea, Poppa Ed, and Aunt Sara came along with us to see our little gymnast in action! I got some great action shots this time too!

All Inked Up

After four long years with only the outline completed, Nils finally got his back tattoo finished!

Of course I couldn't resist getting another tattoo myself. So here is my fourth tattoo, a seahorse! Designed by me!

Painting Pumpkin with Grandma Nea

This year, in the interest of saving myself yet another thing to clean up, Nils and I agreed to let Shaylee paint a pumpkin rather than trying to carve one. This also gave her the opportunity to be creative and have some one-on-one time with her Grandma Nea.

Picking the Perfect Pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch

After I got off of work, Nils' parents and sister, Shaylee and Nils and myself all went to Lakes Park to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin for Shaylee to paint. I liked how throughout the entire park, they kept the Halloween theme with some cute decorations. I kidnapped some really cute photos taken my mother in-law, Linnea, of the various decorations.

Normally we would have gotten a pumpkin to carve but this year, we thought it would be nice to give Shaylee the opportunity to get in the action (since she is still to little to carve) and keep things moderately mess-free (compared to pumpkin guts everywhere, yes, paint is considered moderately mess-free!).

At Lakes Park, Shaylee had to "test" several pumpkins before finding the perfect one. She wanted one that was light enough for her to hold without being too big. Nils eventually found one that was not only light enough for Shaylee's standards but also was nicely shaped.

While we were there, we took a hay ride (small flatbed pulled by a quite powerful four-wheeler) and enjoyed the Florida sunset. We may not have leaves that change color but we are never short of some awe-inspiring sunsets.

Olivia's Birthday Party

It's amazing to get to hang out with my high school BFF's! Today was my friend Peggy's daughter Olivia's birthday party at Lakes Park. My other best friend, Lindsey, was there too with her three kids. Its so strange to be around them again, all with our own kids! The weather, although a little windy, was beautiful and even I felt a bit playful and bounced around in the bounce house! I had to laugh that Peggy forgot to pack the blind fold for the pinata so she had to stick a teeshirt over each of the kid's head!

My Little Gymnast!

So excited to be going to gymnastics!

Looking in at the big girls, Shaylee just can't wait to get in there and do some stunts of her own!

She has already mastered the perfect "ta-da!" pose!
